Carpe Iter controllers (Terrain Command, Adventure Control, BMW Control, and Caretta BMW Multi-Controller) feature native Auto-Profile integration with Pista.
Unlike apps with fixed command profiles, Pista requires key binding configuration directly within the Pista app itself.
When Next-Gen Hub (NGH) detects Pista in the foreground, it automatically switches your controller to the dedicated Pista profile. This profile transmits standard keycodes optimized for Pista to recognize during setup.
Setting Up Controller Actions in Pista
Because Pista does not use predefined NGH commands, all button functions (such as roadbook scrolling or trip adjustments) are mapped inside Pista's settings:
- Ensure Next-Gen Hub (NGH) is running and Automatic Profile Switching is enabled.
- Launch Pista on your device. (NGH will automatically load the Pista controller profile in the background).
- Open Pista Settings → Controller / Key Binding menu.
- Select the action you want to map (e.g., Scroll Up, Scroll Down, Trip +, Trip -).
- Press the corresponding physical button on your Carpe Iter controller to assign the keycode.
Troubleshooting & Setup Notes
- Ensure NGH has been granted Accessibility permissions in Android System Settings.
- Open NGH → Settings → Controller and verify Automatic Profile Switching is toggled ON.
- If Pista fails to register button presses during key binding setup, confirm that NGH has active background permissions and the controller is connected.
- For detailed hardware connection troubleshooting, see Controller doesn't function as expected.
