- YES: That’s great! A rally tower provides maximum convenience and proper protection for the tablet in the toughest environments. Depending on your specific tower, you likely have either a GPS bar or a mounting plate with holes:
- GPS bar - Most towers feature a 12 mm GPS bar, which is compatible with either the AMPS Base Bracket or the Short Bracket 12.
- Mounting plate with holes -These holes usually accept M4 or M5 screws following the AMPS 38 x 30 mm standard. We recommend using the Antivibration Adapter in this case. No other accessories are needed; simply use M5 screws to attach the Lightweight Holder directly to the tower.
- NO: In this case, consider one of the following options:
- Mini cockpit - This is the recommended solution, as it provides proper protection via the additional windshield. Use the Antivibration Adapter between the cockpit and the tablet holder.
- Handlebar clamp - This bracket mounts to the screws holding your handlebars. Note: You will need to swap the Lightweight Holder's default M5 threaded back plate for a back plate with M4 holes to ensure compatibility.
- Short bracket 28 - If you don't have a crossbar, you can likely use this bracket to attach the Lightweight Holder to the center of your handlebars (typically 28 mm in diameter). If your bars are 22 mm, you can still use this bracket with the diameter reduction insert.
- Short bracket 12 / AMPS base bracket - If your handlebars have a 12 mm crossbar, you can use either of these brackets to attach the Lightweight Holder.
- Medium bracket - This bracket creates an additional GPS bar attached to the handlebars. You will need to use the AMPS Base Bracket as well.
Using the tablet with insufficient protection (without a windshield that fully shields it from water) significantly increases the risk of device failure. We highly recommend using a proper windshield, possibly with a windshield extension add-on, to ensure the tablet's safety and reliable operation.
