What is NGH and why do I need it

Modified on Mon, 6 Jul at 3:12 PM

Next-gen HUD (NGH) is the core software engine of the current generation of the Carpe Iter handlebar controllers ecosystem. At its current stage of development, it serves two primary functions:

  1. A mandatory companion app for Carpe Iter handlebar remotes.

  2. A dedicated interface for managing special hardware features on the Caretta flagship GPS.

The Control Engine for Carpe Iter Remotes

Without NGH, a Carpe Iter Bluetooth controller behaves like a generic keyboard. NGH transforms it into a sophisticated, fully configurable control hub that automatically adapts its layout as you transition from one navigation app to another.

The BIOS Analogy: Think of using our controllers without NGH like turning on a PC that only has the BIOS installed but no operating system. You can power it on, but none of the actual features you bought it for will work. Running NGH is an absolute must to unlock the full functionality of our controllers.

Caretta Specific Features

For Caretta owners, NGH manages deep, device-specific hardware features. These performance and connectivity optimizations are only accessible when NGH is running on the Caretta. We cover these specific settings in detail in the dedicated section on the Caretta.

Built-In Features

Beyond managing your Carpe Iter controller, NGH functions as an all-in-one cockpit, offering:

  • Mini Homescreen & Media Control

  • Digital Rally Roadbook

  • Map Navigation featuring live track recording and track import/export.

  • Quick Navigation to predefined locations.
