OS Maps - Using Carpe Iter Controllers

Modified on Thu, 30 Jul at 3:32 PM

Carpe Iter controllers (Terrain Command, Adventure Control, BMW Control, and Caretta BMW Multi-Controller) feature native Auto-Profile integration with OS Maps.

When Next-Gen Hub (NGH) detects OS Maps in the foreground, your physical controller buttons dynamically reconfigure to give you tactile control over map navigation.

All Supported In-App Functions

The following functions are supported by NGH for OS Maps and can be mapped or customized via the NGH button configuration interface:

  • Cursor Map Panning: Smooth map panning using mouse/pointer emulation on joysticks or directional pads (OS Maps does not support native keyboard map panning).
  • Zooming: Instant zoom in and zoom out.
  • Re-Centering: One-click re-centering on your current GPS location.

Customizing Your Layout: You can easily rebind or swap these functions to specific short-press, long-press, or double-press button combinations. For step-by-step instructions, see How to configure / customize remote controller.

Default Controller Layouts

Below are the default button assignments for each controller profile when running OS Maps:

Troubleshooting & Setup Notes

  1. Ensure NGH has been granted Accessibility permissions in Android System Settings (required for pointer/cursor emulation).
  2. Open NGH → Settings → Controller and verify Automatic Profile Switching is toggled ON.
  3. If OS Maps is open but buttons do not respond, verify that OS Maps is updated to the latest Play Store release.
  4. For detailed hardware connection troubleshooting, see Controller doesn't function as expected.
