Carpe Iter GPS Bracket for Yamaha Tenere 700 - Frame Mount Installation Instructions

Compatibility & Product Details

  • Compatibility: Only compatible with TFT dashboard models (MY23+).
  • Mount Type: Frame Mount type (Mask mount available under a separate product code).
  • Part Numbers: Part No. 4320 (Bracket) + Part No. 4322 (Frame Mount Kit)

Installation Procedure

  1. Remove windscreen and the stock GPS bracket (shaft):
  2. Optional: Remove the upper two headlight mounting screws
    • Only necessary if you plan to install the cockpit reinforcement (part No. 3).
  3. Remove the two original M8 screws attaching the mask subframe to the bike frame
Note: These screws will be replaced with the provided hardware in Step 6. Ensure the original aluminum spacers remain in place.
  4. Insert rubber grommets (part No. 4b) into the stainless steel carrier plates (part No. 4a)
    • This sub-assembly will be inserted into both the right and left bracket in the following step.
  5. Assemble the left and right sides of the bracket
    • The diagram illustrates the right side; mirror the procedure for the left side.
Caution: Do not torque the screws yet — leave some slack in the assembly.
  6. Attach the mask mount (#14) to the bike mask sub-frame
    • Pay close attention to the correct mounting orientation.
  7. Reinsert the stock GPS shaft
    • Insert the stock GPS shaft into the rubber grommets (#4a) installed in Step 4/5 and reinstall the assembly into the windscreen supports.
  8. Attach the left and right sides of the bracket to the bottom mask mount (#14)
Tip: Attach one side of the bracket first and the other side subsequently to facilitate proper part alignment.
    • Align the central stand-off (#19) and the left spacer (#18) with the mounting holes in the mask mount (#14) and hold them in place. Both the stand-off and spacer sit inside the mask mount (#14). Secure the left side of the bracket using the M6 mounting screws (#20). Do not torque yet — leave slack for adjustment.
    • Align the remaining spacer (#18) with the mounting holes in the mask mount (#14) and attach the right side of the bracket using the M6 mounting screws (#20). Leave slack for adjustment.
  9. Attach the cockpit reinforcement (#21)
    • Attach the cockpit reinforcement (mounted to the bracket in Step 5) to the cockpit structure.
    • Use the stock screws removed in Step 2.
Caution: Do not fully torque the screws yet; leave slack in the assembly.
  10. Align bracket parts and torque main screws
    • Align the bracket components highlighted in the diagram (orange faces) and tighten screws marked by the yellow arrows (do not tighten cockpit reinforcement screws yet).
    • Recommended Torque for M6 screws: 8 Nm
    • Recommended Torque for M8 screws: 15 Nm
  11. Tighten the cockpit reinforcement screws on the bike frame
    • Recommended Torque: 4 Nm
  12. Tighten the cockpit reinforcement screws on the bracket
    • Recommended Torque: 8 Nm
  13. Attach the GPS platform
    • Adjust the distance between the left and right sides of the bracket if necessary, and set the GPS platform angle.
    • Torque the retaining screws (#8). Recommended Torque: 2 Nm.
    • The GPS platform can be mounted in either the upper or lower position.
Configuration Note: When mounting the Carpe Iter Lightweight holder or other devices with a larger footprint, always use the upper position (upper set of holes). The lower set of holes positions the GPS platform closer to the dashboard and allows for minor angle adjustment.
  14. Reinstall the windscreen
