In case your controller is not working with Guru maps correctly, and is not centering the map when the centering button is pressed, make sure that you have the "buttons at right" setting disabled. This setting changes the centering button, and the controller cannot access it.
This solution is applicable to other apps. If your controller is working correctly on most apps, but is acting up on one app, make sure that you have the default layout enabled in the app, and that you have automatic profiling set in the Controller app.
