The controller could actually be disconnected - you can check in the device Bluetooth manager. If it is disconnected, check that the controller is powered and is not connecting to another device you may have paired it with previously.

If the controller is actually connected, but the Controller app claims it is not, read further.

When firmware is updated, you might get a notification in the Controller app that the controller disconnected, even though it is in fact connected. The screen might look something like this (this screen shot shows Terrain Command, but it could be Adventure Control or BMW Control in your case):

The controller is in fact fine, this is only user interface issue in the Controller app, which is easily fixed:

Click on the "BT MANAGER" button. It will bring you to the system Bluetooth device manager. Unpair (forget - the function name varies depending on your operating system version and device brand) the Carpe Controller. Generally, the unpairing procedure is exactly the same like for any other Bluetooth device.

After the Carpe Controller disappeared from the list of connected or previously paired devices, restart the Controller app - simply swipe it away from the list of running devices and open it again. Then follow the standard connection and pairing routine. Everything will work normally when the controller is connected and paired again.
