How to charge the CI Pad

Charging the CI Pad

The CI Pad can be charged either on the motorcycle (via the M8 power cable and pogo-pin holder) or off the motorcycle using the provided USB wall charger.

Power Requirements

The CI Pad operates on 5V DC. Connecting the device to a motorcycle's 12V electrical system requires a dedicated Carpe Iter power supply to convert 12V to 5V DC.

Off-Bike Charging

When charging off the motorcycle, use the original Carpe Iter wall charger. If replacement is necessary or your region uses a different plug standard, use a standard 5V DC / 3A (15W maximum) power supply. Damage caused by non-compliant power adapters is not covered under warranty.

WARNING: Incompatible Charger Protocols
Never connect the CI Pad to high-voltage or fast-charging power supplies exceeding 5V / 3A (15W). Exceeding 5V DC will cause severe hardware damage and void the warranty.

Do NOT use:

  • USB PD (Power Delivery) chargers
  • USB QC (Quick Charge) chargers
  • USB4 / Thunderbolt power sources
  • Laptop USB-C power adapters
  • Any power adapter with an output rating exceeding 5V DC

WARNING: Wiring Modifications
Do not modify the charging cables, connector pins, or wiring harness (with the exception of shortening the 12V input lead to the power supply). Any unauthorized modification to the wiring will void the warranty. Compatible cables, adapters, and accessories are available on the Carpe Iter e-shop.
