Can I keep the CI Pad on my bike permanently?
No!
The CI Pad is not designed to be kept on your bike at all times. You should remove it even when parking the bike overnight.
There are several reasons for this:
Reverse current: Keeping the CI Pad connected to a power source that is not powered will slowly drain its battery. This applies to any power source, not just our motorcycle power source. For instance, if you leave the CI Pad connected to a USB wall charger that is unplugged from the wall socket, or if you forget to disconnect it from a laptop that shuts down, the laptop will draw power from the CI Pad. In such cases, the battery can be damaged quickly—even overnight when the CI Pad is fully charged.
Battery depletion: Prolonged draining of the CI Pad's battery in this manner may lead to complete depletion, preventing it from being charged again. If you’ve heard users say, “I came to my bike one day and the CI Pad did not start,” this is likely what happened to them. The only solution in such cases is to send the CI Pad to us for repair service.
Exposure to elements: The CI Pad is not built to withstand permanent exposure to the elements. Constant exposure to hot summer sun or extreme winter cold can eventually cause it to fail. These limitations are clearly outlined in the user manual.
