SIM Card Not Recognized
If your CI Pad does not recognize the SIM card, the most common reason is poor contact between the SIM card and the port. This issue often occurs when using a smaller-sized SIM card with an adapter or when the SIM card is worn or oxidized from previous use.
Troubleshooting Steps:
Check SIM Card Condition:
- Ensure that the contact pads on the SIM card are not oxidized.
- Test with a new full-sized SIM card (without using an adapter) to see if the issue persists.
Obtain a New SIM Card:
- If your SIM card has already been cut, most GSM operators offer free replacements. When you receive a new SIM card, ensure you remove the largest size available from the SIM card carrier plate to avoid needing an adapter.
Avoid Frequent Swapping:
- It is not recommended to frequently swap the SIM card between the CI Pad and your regular cell phone. Both the SIM cards and SIM card ports are not designed for frequent removal, which can lead to premature failure of the SIM card and/or SIM card slot.
Consider Cloned (Dual) SIM Cards:
- Most GSM operators provide cloned (dual) SIM cards, allowing you to have two physical SIM cards with identical numbers. Using a cloned SIM card in the CI Pad can be convenient, as it can remain in the device permanently.
- To switch cellular functions between your cell phone and CI Pad, simply enable airplane mode on your cell phone and activate the cellular connection on the CI Pad (and vice versa when switching back).
Managing Airplane Mode:
- Airplane mode is independent of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections. When you enable airplane mode on the CI Pad to use your cell number on your regular phone, you can still turn Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on manually, while the cellular connection remains in airplane mode.
- To toggle Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, swipe down on the CI Pad screen to reveal settings shortcuts and tap on the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth icons.
