How can water get inside the CI Pad?
The CI Pad is completely sealed; the plastic parts are glued shut to prevent water ingress, which is one of the reasons repairs can be challenging.
While this design makes the CI Pad quite water-resistant, it is crucial to ensure proper sealing during use. The only way for water to seep inside the CI Pad is through improperly closed port flaps or seals. Detailed instructions for proper sealing can be found in the user manual.
In summary: close the seals until they are flush with the device body.
If water enters the CI Pad, it is most likely due to improper sealing caused by user error. Interestingly, most of our water-damaged units come from dry countries. To prevent damage, always ensure that seals are properly secured and regularly inspect them. If your seals appear too easy to open or show visible damage, consider replacing them. Remember, it is more cost-effective to replace a seal than to send your tablet in for service.
