- Always On: The Red power source does not have a voltage sensor and will continuously provide power as long as there is input voltage. It does not depend on the engine running or any specific voltage threshold.
- Connection: It is designed to be connected to a switched circuit (after the ignition). This means that it should be used in conjunction with circuits that only receive power after the key is turned or the engine has started. Most modern motorcycles are equipped with auxiliary power outlets that operate in this way.
Which one should you choose?
- If you want a power source that only activates when the engine is running and turns off automatically when the engine stops, the Black power source is the ideal choice.
- If you need a power source that remains on as long as there is input voltage—regardless of whether the engine is running—then opt for the Red power source. This is particularly useful if you have a dedicated switched circuit or an ignition-controlled outlet.
