The CI Pad can be charged either on the bike with M8 cable/pogo pins, or off the bike through the USB charger provided.
The CI Pad requires 5V DC, just like your smartphone. Therefore, it is necessary to use a power source to convert the motorcycle's 12V to 5V.
When not riding, use the original wall charger exclusively. In case it is lost or the EU plug isn't supported in your country, it is technically feasible to use a 3A/5V DC equivalent, though caution is advised as any damage caused by the use of other chargers is not covered in the warranty.
⚠ Avoid plugging the CI Pad into anything more powerful than 3A/5V (15W), as it can lead to serious damage to the tablet and will not be covered by the warranty. Known charger types that may cause damage include:
- USB PD - PowerDelivery
- USB QC - QuickCharge
- USB4
- Thunderbolt
- Laptop USB-C chargers
- Any adapter that mentions output voltage higher than 5V
⚠ Avoid modifying the wiring in any way. All the necessary components are available on the Carpe Iter e-shop. In case your specific use-case isn't covered by this, consult with a professional, or Carpe-Iter’s Support, first. Modifying the wiring, in exception to the power source input cable, leads to a void of the warranty. (as said in the manual doesnt need to be there)
