Overview of CI Pad Holder Variants

Carpe Iter offers three holder variants for the CI Pad: the Lightweight Active Holder, the Lightweight Passive Holder, and the Lightweight Bare Metal Holder.

1. Lightweight Bare Metal Holder

The Bare Metal Holder is a mechanical replacement chassis for units where existing electronics remain fully functional.

• Purpose: Replacement body for users with damaged holder housing but intact pogo pins and M8 wiring.
• Features: Includes two lock keys. Electronics are not included; existing internal electronics and wiring harness must be transferred from the previous holder.

Note: Ensure cable and connector brackets are undamaged before reassembly. Broken brackets must be replaced to secure the M8 cable and prevent connector strain or twisting.

2. Lightweight Active Holder

The Active Holder provides dual-mode charging capability via spring-loaded pogo pins and/or the direct M8 screw connector.

• Charging Method: Charges via integrated pogo pins, the M8 cable, or both simultaneously.
• Recommended Use: Multi-cylinder and smooth four-stroke adventure/touring motorcycles with low chassis vibration.

Caution: Not recommended for single-cylinder, two-stroke, or lightweight enduro motorcycles due to high vibration levels, which can cause intermittent contact and damage the pogo pins or device contact pads. Regular cleaning and greasing of the pogo pins is required as outlined in the user manual.

3. Lightweight Passive Holder

The Passive Holder relies exclusively on a physical threaded M8 power connection.

• Charging Method: Exclusively via the threaded M8 power cable.
• Recommended Use: Off-road, enduro, and high-vibration applications. The threaded physical connection provides maximum resistance to vibration, impacts, and debris.
• Cable Management: Utilize the supplied retention brackets. The small bracket secures the cable against the holder to minimize movement, while the large bracket docks and secures the sealed M8 cable cap when the CI Pad is unmounted.

Included Accessories

Both complete holder kits (Active and Passive) include the M8 charging cable, two lock keys, and the standard cable/connector bracket set.
