Rally Tripmaster HUB Setup - mechanical assembly

Modified on Thu, 10 Sep at 8:50 AM

When combined with the Carpe Iter Rally Tripmaster HUB, the Terrain Command III allows you to control up to two Tripmaster units and an Android navigation device simultaneously. No rewiring is needed—toggle between external Rally Tripmaster control (such as ICO) and standard GPS app control via an on-screen software switch in NGH. Installation is fully plug-and-play.

Installation Instructions

Always install the Rally Tripmaster HUB while the Terrain Command III is disconnected from power. The Terrain Command III automatically detects the presence of the Rally Tripmaster HUB upon power cycle. Ensure that the firmware on your Terrain Command III is up-to-date. Software mapping and configuration for controlling the external rally tripmaster are handled in the NGH interface (covered in a dedicated support guide).

Testing Before Final Assembly: Always test button and toggle functions before reinstalling fairings, headlights, or securing wiring. Connect the Terrain Command to power and press each button/toggle. The status LED on the Terrain Command HUB will illuminate green during activation. If the LED does not turn green, or if it remains constantly green without input, check your wiring connections.
Securing Connectors: Due to heavy vibration and shock in rally environments, securely fasten all circular connectors with thread-lock glue or electrical tape once testing is complete.

Connector Identification

Each Rally Tripmaster HUB lead is labeled to indicate its mating component:

Note: The Toggle Switch Adapter is strictly required when connecting a Toggle Switch to the Rally Tripmaster HUB. It is not required when connecting a Toggle Switch directly to the Terrain Command III HUB. Connectors are keyed with internal alignment elements—never force a connection.

Hardware Overview

The core controller is the Terrain Command III HUB, available with the Terrain Command III kit or the Terrain Command Rally Kit.

Toggle Switches can be purchased as a kit (including CNC machined aluminum brackets) or individually as spare parts (Toggle Switch Short, Toggle Switch Long). Brackets are offered in Type A (traditional rally style) and Type B (for bikes with large stock switchgear), supporting single-switch or dual-switch configurations. The Rally Tripmaster HUB is sold separately.
