How to enable on-screen (software) keyboard

What should I do if my on-screen keyboard doesn't show up after connecting a CARPE ITER Controller?

If your on-screen keyboard disappears after connecting your CARPE ITER Controller, this is a standard behavior on Android devices when a hardware keyboard is connected.To re-enable the on-screen keyboard, follow these steps:

Simple Method - applicable especially to older Android versions:

1. Connect the controller (controller is showing on the list of connected Bluetooth devices)
2. Access Notifications: Swipe down the notification bar on your device to reveal system notifications.
3. Configure Keyboard: If you see a notification that says "Configure physical keyboard.", click on it and Toggle the option to "Use on-screen keyboard."

You can also enable the on-screen keyboard through your device settings:

1. Go to System Settings.
2. Select Language and Keyboard Settings.
3. Find the section for Physical Keyboard.
4. Enable the option to Show on-screen keyboard.

You can also full-text search the system settings, which will help finding the correct sub-menu item. Disconnect the controller (turn off Bluetooth on your Android device, open System Settings and enter "physical keyboard" into the search field. Select the item "physical keyboard" in the search results:

Newer Android versions: If you still cannot see on-screen keyboard when you click on a text field to enter a text, check that the on-screen keyboard is not collapsed under a keyboard "badge" - usually located on the side of the screen. 

If the on-screen keyboard is still not showing: Some software keyboards, such as the Gboard, have their own settings for on-screen keyboard. Go to the keyboard settings and enable on-screen keyboard.
